Getting to know AO President Tim Pohlemann
Chairman of the Saarland University Hospital (Homburg, Germany) Department of Trauma, Hand, and Reconstructive Surgery; full professor of traumatology and reconstructive surgery at Saarland University
Tim Pohleman is widely respected within the orthopedic surgery community for his clinical expertise and research contributions, particularly in the areas of trauma surgery and pelvic and acetabular surgery. He has published numerous papers in leading medical journals and has served on the editorial boards of several esteemed journals. In addition to his clinical, research, and teaching activities, he has to his credit more than 30 years of AO service, ranging from serving as AO Faculty to senior leadership roles and including technology initiatives that set the stage for the current standard of modular integration of visualization, simulation, robots, and artificial intelligence (AO) into intraoperative and perioperative processes. Pohlemann’s vision for the AO is centered around strengthening the organization’s role as a global leader in musculoskeletal surgery, with a focus on driving innovation and excellence in patient care.
