Courses for students
During the spring semester, students from ETH Zürich and the University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) in Winterthur are invited to join an insightful hands-on training at the AO Research Institute Davos (ARI).
The course is part of the lecture series on skeletal repair at ETH Zürich, organized by AO Research Institute Davos scientists Sibylle Grad, Martin Stoddart, David Eglin, Fintan Moriarty, and Stephan Zeiter. Study directions for the trainees focus on health sciences, health technologies, and biomedical engineering. The goals of this two-day course are to provide basic insight in osteosynthesis principles and in current research activities within the AO Research Institute Davos, thereby highlighting the interfaces between medicine, biology, and engineering.
Course content
- Introduction into translational pre-clinical orthopedic research
- Principles of fracture healing and surgical fracture management
- Practical osteosynthesis and skill training exercises
- Practical laboratory and clinical workshops
